We will be discussing excerpts from the following: \n\n“Suburban Warriors: The Origins of the New American Right” – Lisa McGirr\n“A People’s Guide to Orange County” – Elaine Lewinnek\, Thuy Vo Dang\, Gustavo Arellano\n“Imperialism\, the Highest Stage of Capitalism” – Vladimir Lenin\n\nWe hope to consider some of the questions: \n\nHow has military industry shaped the unequal development of Orange County’s economy\, community\, and politics?\nWhy was GKN Aerospace allowed to operate a chemical plant in the middle of a working class neighborhood?\nHow can we build organized resistance to military industrial interests and fight for an economy which uplifts rather than oppresses our fellow workers?\n\nAll are welcome!
