In Orange County, residents live under constant fear of interactions with any one of the multitude of repressive law-enforcement agencies that operate here.
This fear is often justified as even something as seemingly benign as a broken brakelight can lead to days in court, spiraling fees, and a loss of license.
The Orange County Democratic Socialists are conducting a free brakelight clinic for two main reasons. Primarily, we want to help those in our community avoid possibly lethal interactions with the police. We also want to raise awareness about both issues with law-enforcement and ways that we can hold the police accountable.
