In Orange County, residents live under constant fear of interactions with any one of the multitude of repressive law-enforcement agencies that operate here.
This fear is often justified as even something as seemingly benign as a broken brakelight can lead to days in court, spiraling fees, and a loss of license.
The Orange County Democratic Socialists are replacing broken brakelights for free. Primarily, we want to help those in our community avoid possibly lethal interactions with the police and ICE. We also want to raise awareness about both issues with law-enforcement and ways that we can hold the police and ICE accountable.
We have just completed our first Brakelight clinic. Future locations and dates to be announced.
